Leadership Program

A hands-on leadership track for committed students who want to mentor, speak up, and help run the class, at any age or belt level.

About the Leadership Program

The Leadership Program is an invitation-based track for students of any age or belt level who are ready to take on more responsibility. Leadership students assist instructors with beginner classes, learn to lead bullying-prevention and conflict-resolution lessons for younger students, and build public speaking, mentoring, and goal-setting skills through hands-on practice, not classroom theory. It is where committed students first step into a leadership role at Element ATA, and the path many take on their way toward the Legacy Program.

Leadership Program FAQ

How do students join the Leadership Program?
The Leadership Program is invitation-based. Instructors recommend students who consistently show dedication, a strong attitude, and a desire to grow beyond the standard curriculum. If you or your child are interested, talk to an instructor – we are always happy to explain what we look for and help students work toward an invitation.
What do Leadership students learn that other students do not?
Leadership students train in advanced technique that builds on the work in our regular classes, and develop skills beyond martial arts: public speaking, bullying-prevention and conflict-resolution instruction, mentoring younger students, and goal-setting, all through hands-on practice assisting in real classes. It is often the first step for students who go on to the Legacy instructor-certification track, though Leadership itself is about building character and hands-on experience, not classroom teaching theory.
Is the Leadership Program only for advanced belts or adults?
No. Leadership is about commitment and character, not rank or age. We have Leadership students across a wide range of ages and belt levels. What they share is consistency, effort, and a genuine desire to help others grow.
